I am one of those damned.... I am an atheist.....
Hence, I don't believe in some higher power or any religion for that matter.... For me all religions, I mean all religions are just a load of crap..... (Actually was born into a religion and still write it in official forms requiring it.... but damned... thats just for the official purpose)....
Its not as if I don't visit any holy places as such... (Rarely... once in a blue moon I am dragged due to social obligations into going to temples, or churches or mosques) What I d there is just admire the beauty of the structures... But whats their purpose and what goes inside there I am not at all interested in any degree.....
I find some people religious nut-jobs (not to offend any feeling here... People have their right to religion as I have my freedom for speech). Memorizing verses of Bhagwad Gita, or Bible or Quran.... Sure those religious books do provide some examples as to how to lead a good human life... But why don't people understand that they are just books... Meant to be read, enjoyed and hopefully which can help you to become a better human being.... But memorizing them to their core and delving into its deeper meaning is bull-shit because there isn't anything much there....
I don't see how people foolishly believe something their priest says cause "they are speakers to the god!!!"
Damn, I hate priest of all kind - they are sort of manipulative bitches which will feed your brain with crap from childhood and slowly you will start believing them.... People some things happen because of coincidences and probabilities... not because of a higher power is trying to help you.... You definitely have to get out of their trap!!!!
If that were the case there would have been no children starving in Africa, no homeless people and everything would be rosy... but it isn't. If there were a god, and we were its children... God would be an awful parent who needs to be sued in the courts for neglect of their children.... We can free murderers in the world and pardon crime lords... coz God will save us all and sure they will get punishment in heaven or hell...
Fantasizing won't help much - the fact being when you die you die and there is nothing beyond that.... People have wars over religion.... that is at-least one thing which no religion should do and no religion truly does.... Half witted people kiss their priests asses in the faint hope that God will be good to them and pardon them; they do all sorts of heinous crimes as man-slaughter.... that too "In the name of God"...
If you truly want to make a change, make a change within yourself; be a better parent, loving husband or wife, treat you co-workers and juniors and your kids better.... It is your actions which the world sees and noble actions do get recognized.... So its time to change yourself and be a better person than believing that a savior might come to rescue your souls... You can yourself save a few souls by being kind and generous... There is no need of a god to tell you truly what the right thing is....
I don't truly understand when people will start looking beyond god and festivals and actually just celebrate the gift of life as is!!!!
I'm hoping to see that day at least in my lifetime and hope that 2% of atheists or agnostics grow to a larger mainstream size!!!!
